Pastor and Judi moved to Boise from Dallas, Texas in 1978. They met with 5 families at the Berean Baptist Church and began ministry on Oct. 5. The name was changed from the Berean Baptist Church in January of 1979 to the Broadway Ave. Baptist Church. Bro. Hines served as Sr. Pastor of the church until Feb. of 2003. The church went through three land purchases and two major building programs during his tenure. There have been hundreds of people saved and baptized, many ministries added, eight churches planted around the North West, and an extensive missions ministry built during Pastor Hines term as Sr. Pastor.

In 2002 Pastor Hines started a ministry called iMap (International Missionary Advocate Personnel). It is a ministry that helps missionaries raise special project money to enable them to stay on the field and do the work of the ministry while iMap helps raise the money for their needs. He resigned as Sr. Pastor to work with the missionaries in 2003 and the church called Pastor Jeff Love. Pastor Hines and his wife still work with the church and serve part time on staff.

The Hines have three children, Jacob, Stephanie, and Phillip, all married to wonderful Christians. Jake and Beth and Rich and Steph are active in serving at Bridgepoint, and Phil and Nicole are graduate theology students at Liberty University. The Hines have five grand children.
