Bridgepoint started out as Berean Baptist Church in 1953. Evangelist Art Wilson held a series of meetings which resulted in people accepting Christ. This small group of believers met on State Street in a rented building. Things were not easy for this little church, as locations and pastors were changed many times through the years.

In 1968, the church found a 3 acre piece of property way out on the edge of town on Broadway. The building used to be a dairy and had been abandoned and several junk cars were scattered throughout the property. Pastor Grady Bagley led the church to purchase the property for $12,000. The people went to work cleaning the property and repairing the building, and services were soon held in the new building.

In 1978, the church called Pastor Bob Hines to become the new pastor. He and his wife Judi, brought integrity, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to do whatever it took to reach people for Christ. The church was renamed Broadway Avenue Baptist Church, and began to experience substantial growth.

In 1980, Jeff and Becky Love joined the staff to work with the youth. In 1984, a new auditorium, nurseries, and fellowship areas were built by the volunteer labor of the church members.

In 2004, God called Pastor Hines to begin a missionary assistance ministry called iMap. This ministry is an important part of Bridgepoint's missionary strategy. On February 15th, 2004, the people of Bridgepoint voted to call Jeff Love to be our Senior Pastor. Knowing that our facilities and property are not adequate to minister to a growing church and community, we purchased 20 acres of land on the corner of Amity and Linder for our future relocation. The process of relocation continues and our prayer is that we will move to our new church campus in 2010.

In 2009 Broadway changed their name to Bridgepoint Church and God has continued blessing our church by reaching people with the gospel. Today 800 people worship in three services on the weekend

Our church has experienced great days in our past, and we are thankful for those who have sacrificed to make what we have now possible. We believe greater days are ahead. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." As we think big and pray big, we are excited to see how God will answer big.
